Psychology, Personality and Social Minor

Courses in the minor may not be counted toward the major, but may be used to satisfy preparation for the major and general education requirements, if applicable. A minimum of six upper division units must be completed in residence at San Diego State University.

The minor in psychology consists of 19-21 units selected from one of the following areas:

Personality and Social

(21 units)

PSY 101 - Introductory Psychology Units: 3
PSY 230 - Developmental Psychology Units: 3 and
PSY 211 - Introduction to Cognitive Psychology Units: 3
or
PSY 260 - Introduction to Physiological Psychology Units: 3 * But not both.

12 Units of Upper Division Psychology

12 units of upper division psychology courses of which nine must be selected from

PSY 331 - Psychology of Infant and Child Development Units: 3
or
PSY 332 - Psychology of Adolescent and Early Adult Development Units: 3 But not both.
or
PSY 333 - Developmental Psychopathology Units: 3 But not both.
PSY 340 - Social Psychology Units: 3
PSY 350 - Abnormal Psychology Units: 3
PSY 351 - Psychology of Personality Units: 3
