PSY 280 - Statistical Methods in Psychology Units: 4 GE
Three lectures and two hours of laboratory.
Prerequisite(s): PSY 101 . Proof of completion of prerequisite(s) required: Copy of transcript.
Quantitative methods in psychology for producing, analyzing, and interpreting data. Sampling, basic research designs, describing distributions, correlation, regression, applications of normal probability curve, confidence intervals, and tests of significance. Analysis and interpretation of data using statistical, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
Note: Students with credit or concurrent registration in the following lower division statistics courses will be awarded a total of four units for the two (or more) courses: Psychology 280; ARP 201 ; BIOL 215 ; CIV E 160 ; ECON 201 ; LING 270 ; POL S 201 ; SOC 201 ; STAT 119 and STAT 250 .
