Preparation for the Major
(12 units) These prerequisite courses may not be taken Cr/NC. The minimum grade in each class is C. Impacted Program
The Criminal Justice major is an impacted program. To be admitted to the major, students must meet the following criteria: a. Complete 12 units in the following courses with a grade of C (2.0) or better: SOC 101 ; SOC 102 ; POL S 102 ; and a three-unit course in elementary statistics (e.g., SOC 201, STAT 119, STAT 250). These courses cannot be taken for credit/no credit (Cr/NC). b. Complete a minimum of 45 transferable semester units (a minimum of 60 units is required for all transfer) c. Have a cumulative GPA of 2.80 or better. Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement
Completing one of the approved upper division writing courses (W) with a grade of C (2.0) or better. See “Graduation Requirements ” section for a complete listing of requirements. Recommended for Mesa Campus students: PSFA 305W Writing for Careers in Professional Studies and Fine Arts Major
A minimum of 36 upper division units to include And One Practicum Course
One criminal justice practicum course selected from Additionally
Students must complete 9 additional upper division units in accordance with the major academic plan, to include a minimum of six criminal justice-specific units. Additionally, students must complete two upper division three-unit elective courses in public administration. Master Plan
