This certificate program will provide necessary skills to managers, instructors, instructional designers, evaluators, local site coordinators, and other professionals working in distance education or related programs in higher education, K‑12, business, government, and more. Students must apply for admission (please contact LDT program adviser for admission requirements and due dates).
Prerequisites: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a grade point average of at least 2.85 (when A equals 4) in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted. Mastery in telecommuting and learning new information technology applications.
Certificate requirements: Twelve units with a grade of C (2.0) or better in each course, and an overall program GPA of 3.00 or higher. Subject to graduate adviser approval, a maximum of two courses taken before admission may be used towards the Advanced Certificate degree requirements. Course expiration and minimum grade limits may apply.
Students who enroll in a related Master’s degree should note that no more than 30% of the Master’s degree units may be taken out of matriculation. This 30% limit includes non-SDSU transfer courses, plus SDSU courses taken when not active in a SDSU graduate program. Coursework applied to an Advanced Certificate or Master’s degree cannot be older than six years.
