M E 490W - Engineering Design: Senior Project

Grading Method: LTR: Letter Graded. The class will be offered for letter grade with no option to take it for Cr/NC

One lecture and six hours of laboratory.

Prerequisite(s): M E 304 (or CIV E 301), M E 314, M E 330, M E 340, M E 452. M E student must have a master plan on file before enrolling in M E 490W. Completion of lower division GE Area 1. Junior or senior standing.

Applications of engineering principles and design techniques to design, build, and test an engineering system taking into consideration societal impact and ethical issues. Developing skills to effectively communicate orally and in writing with audiences within and outside the discipline.

Note: Not open to students with credit in M E 490A. Satisfies the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR) for students who get a minimum grade of C or Cr. Upper-division courses should only be taken by students who have completed 60 semester units or more. In exceptional cases, a student who has completed fewer than 60 units may enroll in upper division courses.
