Grading Method: LCR: Letter Grade with Cr/NC available. The grading default for the class will be letter grade, but students can opt to take it for Cr/NC

Prerequisite(s): Three lower division units in literature or ECL 280. Completion of lower division GE Area 1. Junior or senior standing.

A creative writing workshop in nonfiction, especially the essay as an art form.

May Be Repeated: May be repeated with consent of instructor.

Satisfies the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR) for students who get a minimum grade of C or Cr. Upper-division courses should only be taken by students who have completed 60 semester units or more. In exceptional cases, a student who has completed fewer than 60 units may enroll in upper division courses.
