Graduate Certificate Programs

The advanced certificate at the post-baccalaureate entry level provides students a program of coursework leading to a specific applied goal. The general educational background of a bachelor’s degree with a major in the appropriate field(s) of study is prerequisite to such a certificate. See Nondegree Curricula for more information on advanced certificates.

Post-Baccalaureate Credential Programs

A post-baccalaureate credential provides students with a structured course of study designed to meet professional licensure or credentialing standards in a specific field. Admission requires completion of a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or the completion of specified prerequisite coursework. These programs are intended to prepare students to pursue state or national licensure or certification. However, admission to or completion of a program does not guarantee that a license or credential will be granted. Information regarding licensure and credentialing requirements in the College of Education is available at the Office for Student Success at coeadvis@sdsu.edu.
