All candidates for a degree in liberal arts and sciences must complete the graduation requirements listed in the section of this catalog on “Graduation Requirements .” A master plan of the courses taken to fulfill the major must be approved by the undergraduate adviser. No more than 48 units in physics courses can apply to the degree.
A minor is not required with this major.

Preparation for the Major
(24 units)
Language Requirement
Competency (successfully completing the third college semester or fifth college quarter) is required in one language other than English to fulfill the graduation requirement. Refer to the section of this catalog on “Graduation Requirements .”
Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement
Complete one of the approved upper division writing courses (W) with a grade of C (2.0) or better. See “Graduation Requirements ” section for a complete listing of requirements.
Major (24 Units)
Take the following:
Physics Courses (12 units)
Take at least 12 units of upper-division Physics (PHYS) courses.
Other (3 units)
Take one of the following:
Electives (6 units)
The remaining units are to be chosen in consultation with the undergraduate adviser.
Minor
A minor is strongly recommended: Economics, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or Text Analytics are suggested.
