• COMPE 160 - Introduction to Computer Programming Units: 3 must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or better.
• COMPE 260 - Data Structures and Object-Oriented Programming in C++ Units: 3 must be completed with a grade C- (1.7) or better.
• COMPE 270 - Digital Systems Units: 3 must be completed with a grade C- (1.7) or better.
• COMPE 271 - Computer Organization Units: 3 must be completed with a grade C- (1.7) or better.

General Education

Engineering majors automatically satisfy the Natural Sciences and Quantitative Reasoning and Lifelong Learning and Self-Development foundations GE areas by completion of preparation for the major. Engineering majors automatically satisfy the Natural Sciences and Social and Behavioral Sciences explorations GE areas by completion of the major.

Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement

Complete COMPE 491W  and COMPE 492W  with grades of C (2.0) or better to satisfy the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement. See Graduation Requirements  section for a complete listing of requirements.

Major

After enrollment in Computer Engineering at SDSU, the Computer Engineering major must take all upper division computer science and engineering courses at SDSU unless prior approval is obtained from the department.

Master Plan

The master plan provides an advising record for computer engineering majors and should be initiated by the student with their faculty adviser during the first semester of the junior year. All students must have a master plan on file in the department prior to enrollment in E E 410 . Changes to the master plan are permitted with the approval of the faculty adviser and the department chair.
