Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the certificate program, students must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent and must demonstrate by previous coursework and/or work experience evidence of potential for completing the academic program. Previous courses in psychology taken at SDSU or at other universities will be considered for credit toward certification on an individual basis, but not to exceed seven units.
The Department of Psychology is responsible for the coordination of the certificate program in conjunction with SDSU Global Campus. Applications may be submitted prior to entering the program or before the completion of nine semester units of coursework.
Students are required to submit an Open University Registration Form each semester to SDSU Global Campus.
Students accepted into the program will be assigned an adviser by the Department of Psychology.
Note
Students may transfer up to seven units earned in PSY 101 or PSY 280 . PSY 319 , PSY 420 , and PSY 421 must be completed at San Diego State University.
Achieve a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better. Each course must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or better.
PSY 101 must be completed before taking Psychology PSY 319 , PSY 420 , PSY 421 .
Complete coursework within four years after admission to the program.
Petition SDSU Global Campus for the certificate upon completion of 16 semester units.
