Courses in the English and Comparative Literature minor may not be counted toward major requirements, but may be used to satisfy preparation for the major and general education requirements, if applicable. A minimum of six upper division units must be completed in residence at San Diego State University.

A Minimum of 15 Units
The minor in English and Comparative Literature consists of a minimum of 15 units to include:
Upper Division Units
A maximum of three upper division units in creative writing courses selected from:
Module A
Courses in module A explore the development of English and American literary traditions. Three units selected from:
Module B
Courses in module B include the study of non-Anglophone literatures as well as transmedia study of literature and the arts. Three units selected from:
Module C
Six additional upper division units in English and Comparative Literature at the 300-, 400-, or 500-level.
