Courses in the minor may not be counted toward the major but may be used to satisfy preparation for the major and general education requirements, if applicable. A minimum of six upper division units must be completed at San Diego State University.

Admission

The General Education oral communication course will not be included in the computation of the required grade point average of 2.75.

Admission to the communication minor requires completion of at least 45 units with a minimum grade point average of 2.75 overall; completion of the General Education Oral Communication requirement with a grade of C (2.0) or better; and six units selected from

COMM 160 - Argumentation Units: 3 with grades of C (2.0) or better
COMM 201 - Communication and Community Units: 3 with grades of C (2.0) or better
COMM 204 - Advanced Public Speaking Units: 3 with grades of C (2.0) or better
COMM 245 - Interpersonal Communication Units: 3 with grades of C (2.0) or better
