Preparation for the Major

(21 units)

• THEA 111 - Voice and Movement Units: 3 must be completed with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
• THEA 120 - Heritage of Storytelling Units: 3 must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or better and cannot be taken credit/no credit (Cr/NC).
• THEA 130 - Acting I Units: 3 must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or better and cannot be taken credit/no credit (Cr/NC).
• THEA 205 - American Musical on Stage and Screen Units: 3
• THEA 231 - Acting II Units: 3 must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or better and cannot be taken credit/no credit (Cr/NC).
• THEA 240 - Theatre Design and Technology I Units: 3 must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or better and cannot be taken credit/no credit (Cr/NC).
• TFM 160 - Cinema as Art Units: 3

Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement

• Passing the Writing Placement Assessment with a score of 10

• RWS 305W - Writing in Various Settings Units: 3

• RWS 500W - Advanced Writing Strategies Units: 3 with a grade of C (2.0) or better.

International Experience Requirement

Completion of a study abroad or experience abroad selected from the CSU/SDSU Study Abroad Program; SDSU Exchange Program; SDSU Semester Abroad Program; SDSU Study Travel Program; or SDSU approved Study Abroad Program offered by other accredited institutions.

Major

All performance emphasis majors are required to participate in general auditions each semester.
