All candidates for a degree in applied arts and sciences must complete the graduation requirements listed in the section of this catalog on “Graduation Requirements .”
A minor is not required with this major.

Emphasis in Painting and Printmaking
To complete the major, students must fulfill the degree requirements for the major described in the catalog in effect at the time they are accepted into the premajor at SDSU (assuming continuous enrollment).
Impacted Program
The painting and printmaking emphasis is designated as an impacted program and specific criteria, which include a portion of the Preparation for the Major, are used to admit students. To be admitted to the painting and printmaking emphasis, students must meet the following criteria:

Complete with a grade of C (2.0) or better:

Have a cumulative GPA of 2.20 or better;
C
Students not meeting the minimum GPA may petition for special consideration.

Passing the Writing Placement Assessment with a score of 10 or completing one of the approved upper division writing courses (W) with a grade of C (2.0) or better. See “Graduation Requirements ” section for a complete listing of requirements.

A minimum of 30 upper division units in art to include six units of art history
