Students with this emphasis are required to take BIOL 336 to satisfy three units of upper division Natural Sciences, IV.A.
Engineering majors automatically satisfy the Natural Sciences and Quantitative Reasoning and Lifelong Learning and Self-Development foundations GE areas by completion of preparation for the major. Engineering majors automatically satisfy the Natural Sciences and Social and Behavioral Sciences explorations GE areas by completion of the major.
Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement
Passing the Writing Placement Assessment with a score of 10 or above or completing one of the approved upper division writing courses (W) with a grade of C (2.0) or better. See “Graduation Requirements” section for a complete listing of requirements.
Twelve units of additional coursework may be selected from M E 499 (3 units), M E 580, M E 585, and other 400- or 500-level courses in the bioengineering area with departmental approval, with at least six of the twelve units at the 500-level.
