The Asian American Studies (AAS) department provides an interdisciplinary and rigorous liberal arts education. The program offers a Bachelor of Arts major and a Minor in Asian American Studies. These are designed to develop crucial skills, which employers are seeking: critical analysis, writing, and communication. The coursework teaches students the histories, politics, arts, and cultures of Asian Americans in the United States. The coursework also provides students the ability to apply Asian American Studies to professional fields such as medicine and health, business, and nonprofits. Students will be trained in self-empowerment skills and the skills needed to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
