In Preparation for the Single Subject Teaching Credential
This major satisfies the B.A. degree in applied arts and sciences. The degree may be used to satisfy some of the application requirements for the single subject teaching credential program at SDSU.
Candidates for the single subject credential program at SDSU must complete all requirements as outlined in this catalog under Dual Language and English Learner Education or Teacher Education.

Impacted Program
To complete the major, students must fulfill the degree requirements for the major described in the catalog in effect at the time they are accepted into the premajor at SDSU (assuming continuous enrollment).
The art major in preparation for the single subject teaching credential is an impacted program and specific criteria, which include a portion of the Preparation for the Major, are used to admit students. To be admitted to the art major in preparation for the single subject teaching credential, students must meet the following criteria:

These courses cannot be taken for credit/no credit (Cr/NC);
Complete with a grade of C (2.0) or better:

Have a cumulative GPA of 2.2 or better;
C
Students not meeting the minimum GPA may petition for special consideration.

Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement
Completing one of the approved upper division writing courses (W) with a grade of C (2.0) or better. See “Graduation Requirements ” section for a complete listing of requirements.
