One lecture and six hours of laboratory.

Prerequisite(s): M E 304 (or CIV E 301), M E 314, M E 330, M E 452. Every mechanical engineering student must have a master plan on file before enrolling in M E 490W. Proof of completion of prerequisite(s) required: Copy of transcript.

Applications of engineering principles and design techniques to design, build, and test an engineering system taking into consideration societal impact and ethical issues. Developing skills to effectively communicate orally and in writing with audiences within and outside the discipline.

Note: Not open to students with credit in M E 490A.
