Grading Method: LCR: Letter Grade with Cr/NC available. The grading default for the class will be letter grade, but students can opt to take it for Cr/NC

Prerequisite(s): Six lower division units in literature and/or creative writing. Satisfies Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement for students who have completed 60 units and completed General Education requirements in Communication and Critical Thinking. Proof of completion of prerequisite(s) required: Test scores or verification of exemption; copy of transcript.

Theory and practice of literary criticism. Emphasis on the work of important critics and on development of student’s own critical writing.
