DANCE 481W - Performance Writing

Grading Method: LCR: Letter Grade with Cr/NC available. The grading default for the class will be letter grade, but students can opt to take it for Cr/NC

Prerequisite(s): DANCE 380. Completion of lower division GE Area 1. Junior or senior standing.

Examination of contemporary dance through the related perspectives of criticism and aesthetics. This writing-intensive course enhances critical thinking and analytical skills, and develops a vocabulary with which to examine, address, and articulate a fundamentally non-verbal art form.

Note: Not open to students with credit in DANCE 481. Satisfies the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR) for students who get a minimum grade of C or Cr. Upper-division courses should only be taken by students who have completed 60 semester units or more. In exceptional cases, a student who has completed fewer than 60 units may enroll in upper division courses.
